Great to meet you!

"A healer does not heal you. A healer is someone who holds space for you while you awaken your inner healer, so that you may heal yourself." - Maryam Hasnaa

I have worked with a diverse range of individuals, couples, families, groups, professionals, and businesses for many years as a multi-state Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Mental Health Counselor, and Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist.

I carry a deep respect for people's stories and how complex, creative, and diverse people are. Others describe me as a deep listener, perceptive, intelligent, insightful, and compassionate. My goal is to join you in your world and help you as you better understand yourself – especially the parts that are sometimes more complex, tangled, or guarded, which often need empathy and comfort in order to evolve for the better. I do this to help clients integrate all real parts of self in order to feel whole, content, and empowered in themselves. As well as to improve quality of relationships and vocational experiences.

I am also deeply committed to de-centralized therapy and multiculturalism and diversity. Having been born and raised in the melting pot of Miami, FL on top of my education and training, my way of being in the world was shaped by the normalcy of existing among different cultures, ways of life, and class systems. This allows me to operate from a framework that therapy is not a one-size-fits-all, and that context and systems always matter and need to be taken into account when working with others.

My approach to therapy

I provide an insight-oriented, dynamic, and collaborative approach in a private, non-judgmental therapeutic environment. A place to explore and connect with yourself with greater empathy, compassion and confidence, leaving you feeling more at home and empowered within yourself.

I take time to listen and get to know those I work with as a therapist. I view individuals, couples, and families as being very complex systems, and so I practice being unassuming – offering collaborative, deep, open ended questions and reflections to explore self and relationships more fully in order to help clients find their way within themselves, in their relationships, and in society.

What you can expect from me

In the first session, you can expect me to spend time getting to know you, what's bringing you to therapy, and creating a sense of safety, warmth, and familiarity. We will begin right away on insight and discussing potential solutions. We will co-create your therapeutic journey.

One of my main objectives in the first session is to build rapport, help you feel welcome, and establish a safe, supportive space. Therapy is one of the more vulnerable experiences someone can participate in, and I want to ensure that those I work with feel comfortable so that they can get to the core of what they are wanting to resolve.
