Great to meet you!

Sylvie has lived in several countries and experienced numerous cultures, lifestyles and challenges while also raising children. It is important for her to meet the client where they are at and find the best modality to assist in creating a happier and more fulfilling life. No matter what the situation, therapy will be geared to meet your needs without judgment and offer support where it is needed.

My approach to therapy

It is important for me to be genuine and transparent. I have worked with clients on issues related to gender/identity challenges, substance use disorders, incarceration, social systems and adoption as well as collaborated extensively with law-enforcement/first responders and military service members. What you see is what you get, so you can always be sure that there are no hidden agendas and I will meet you exactly where you are at. This also means that at times I will challenge you to step out of your comfort zone in a way that will help you grow. I believe it is very important to understand what shaped us and how we got to where we currently are, what does not serve us anymore and how we can learn to shift to a healthier version of ourselves.

What you can expect from me

It is important that client and therapist feel like the work together can be one of trust and collaboration. I want my clients to decide whether they would like to embark on this journey with me and trust me with their personal development. Only then could there be a basis to start exploring the client history, upbringing, developed patterns of thinking and coping, and develop a vision of what therapy should help them accomplish in their lives.

I welcome 15 min. complementary consultation meetings before the first session takes place so that there will be no surprises. That way, constructive and collaborative work can commence in the first real session.
