Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Taiesha Joseph-Abrams, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who believes therapy should be a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can show up as your authentic self. I work with individuals navigating anxiety, stress, depression, trauma, life transitions, self-esteem concerns, and difficulties with emotional regulation.

My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and tailored to your individual needs. I draw from evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, mindfulness, and person-centered techniques. Together, we will explore patterns that may be holding you back, build practical coping skills, strengthen your confidence, and work toward meaningful and lasting change.

I understand that reaching out for therapy can feel overwhelming, and you do not have to have everything figured out before you begin. Whether you are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected, or simply ready for something different, I am here to support you as you work toward greater self-awareness, healing, and personal growth.

My goal is to create a space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to become the version of yourself you are working toward.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and person-centered. I believe therapy should be a safe, nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, understood, and supported. I use an integrative approach, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), solution-focused therapy, mindfulness, and trauma-informed care. Together, we will explore patterns, build practical coping skills, identify your strengths, and work toward meaningful change at a pace that feels right for you.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, my focus is on getting to know you beyond your symptoms or diagnosis. We will discuss what brought you to therapy, your current concerns, strengths, experiences, and what you hope to gain from our work together. You can expect a welcoming, supportive, and judgment-free environment where you do not have to have everything figured out. Together, we will begin identifying your goals and creating a personalized plan to help you move toward healing, growth, and greater confidence in navigating life’s challenges.
