Great to meet you!

My name is Dr. Takara Figueroa, and I am a doctorally prepared Nurse Practitioner who is dual board-certified in both Family Practice and Psychiatric-Mental Health. I am passionate about providing comprehensive, patient-centered care that addresses both physical and mental health needs. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of caring for individuals across the lifespan, from children and adolescents to adults and older adults, in a variety of healthcare settings.

My educational background and advanced clinical training have equipped me to provide evidence-based treatment for a wide range of medical and psychiatric conditions. As both a Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I understand the important connection between physical health, emotional well-being, and overall quality of life. I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where patients feel heard, respected, and empowered to participate in their care.

I specialize in the management of chronic medical conditions, and mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and other mood disorders. In addition, I have extensive experience working with individuals affected by substance use disorders and am committed to helping patients achieve and maintain recovery through compassionate, evidence-based care.

My approach to treatment focuses on collaboration, education, and individualized care planning. I believe that every patient has unique strengths, challenges, and goals, and I work closely with each person to develop a treatment plan that aligns with their needs and values.

I am honored to be a part of your healthcare journey and look forward to partnering with you to achieve your health and wellness goals.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is rooted in a holistic philosophy that recognizes the connection between the mind, body, and spirit. I believe that optimal health is achieved by addressing the whole person rather than focusing solely on symptoms or diagnoses. I strive to create a compassionate, collaborative, and judgment-free environment where patients feel comfortable sharing their concerns and actively participating in their treatment decisions. By considering each individual's physical health, emotional well-being, lifestyle, relationships, personal values, and life circumstances, I am able to develop personalized treatment plans that support long-term wellness. My goal is to empower patients through education, evidence-based care, and meaningful therapeutic partnerships, helping them build the skills and confidence needed to achieve their health and wellness goals.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, clients can expect a welcoming, supportive, and judgment-free environment where they can openly discuss their concerns, goals, and experiences. My primary focus is getting to know you as a whole person—not just your symptoms or diagnosis. We will review your medical, mental health, and personal history, explore the challenges that brought you to treatment, and identify your strengths and goals for care. Together, we will develop a personalized treatment plan that reflects your unique needs and values. By the end of the session, my goal is for you to feel heard, understood, and confident that we have a clear path forward toward improving your overall health and well-being.
