Great to meet you!

Tamara “Tammy” Burrowes is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor who earned her Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology and Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Washington Adventist University. She has extensive experience working with children, families, couples, and individuals navigating life challenges such as trauma, substance use, and dual diagnoses.

Tammy is passionate about holistic therapy and believes in supporting the whole person mind, body, and spirit to help clients create meaningful change and live a full, joyful life. She specializes in trauma-informed care, with a particular focus on healing intergenerational trauma, and she uses a variety of evidence-based approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and mindfulness practices.

Known for her ability to connect with people from all walks of life, Tammy brings warmth, compassion, and positive energy into every session. She creates a safe, collaborative space where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors while developing skills to move forward with confidence and resilience.

Outside of her clinical work, Tammy enjoys living life, spending time outdoors, cooking, traveling, dancing, listening to music, and sharing quality time with her family.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and holistic. I believe healing is about more than just reducing symptoms—it’s about helping you reconnect with yourself, your values, and what brings you joy. I use a mix of evidence-based practices like CBT, ACT, and mindfulness, but I always tailor sessions to fit your unique needs. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you can explore challenges, build resilience, and move toward the life you want with confidence.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect to leave sessions feeling heard, supported, and empowered. Together, we’ll work on building practical tools to manage stress, regulate emotions, and navigate challenges with confidence. You’ll also gain deeper insight into yourself—your patterns, strengths, and values—so you can make choices that align with the life you want. Most importantly, my hope is that you’ll walk away from therapy with a greater sense of peace, balance, and resilience.
