Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Associate Professor who is passionate about helping adults navigate life's challenges with greater clarity, confidence, and emotional balance. I work with men and women experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, and relationship concerns, as well as those who simply feel stuck or disconnected from the life they want to be living. My background in both clinical practice and higher education has given me a deep appreciation for the connection between knowledge and real-life experience. I strive to create a supportive, down-to-earth space where you can be yourself, talk openly, and feel understood. My goal is to help you make sense of what you're going through, recognize your strengths, and develop practical tools that support meaningful and lasting change.

My approach to therapy

I believe therapy works best when it feels like a partnership. My approach is warm, collaborative, and focused on helping you create changes that feel realistic and sustainable. I use evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, while tailoring our work to your individual needs, goals, and life experiences. Some days that may mean processing difficult emotions, and other days it may mean learning new coping skills or identifying patterns that are keeping you stuck. I believe therapy should be both supportive and purposeful, offering a place where you feel accepted while also being encouraged to grow. Together, we'll work toward helping you feel more confident, more grounded, and better equipped to handle life's challenges.

What you can expect from me

Starting therapy can feel vulnerable, especially if this is your first time reaching out for support. My goal in our first session is to help you feel comfortable and to create a space where you don't have to have all the answers or know exactly where to begin. We'll spend time getting to know each other, talking about what brought you to therapy, and discussing the challenges or concerns that are most important to you right now. You are welcome to share at your own pace, and there is no pressure to tell your whole story in one session. By the end of our time together, my hope is that you'll leave feeling heard, supported, and with a clearer sense of where we're headed and how therapy can help you move toward the life you want for yourself.
