Great to meet you!

Hello, my name is Tamara. Welcome to my profile! I have almost 6 years of experience in counseling working with various mental health conditions related to trauma. My background includes personal experience with trauma, which has provided valuable insight into the challenges people encounter when dealing with adversity.

My approach to therapy

My therapeutic approach is holistic with Christian counseling as an option. Therapy is initiated with the goal of establishing rapport, fostering empathy, and ensuring a safe environment. Subsequently, I incorporate evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).

What you can expect from me

The session starts with a reflection on recent events and urgent concerns. It then focuses on the client’s main challenge, exploring thoughts and feelings. Psychoeducational topics are also introduced to equip clients with useful information and coping strategies. The session ends with homework, giving clients practical tools for progress between sessions.
