I am a TN Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), and A NE Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner (LIMHP) and Marriage and Family Therapist with advanced training in EMDR therapy and trauma-informed care. I work with adults experiencing anxiety, trauma, grief, alcohol and substance abuse concerns, and relationship distress, including recovery from narcissistic or toxic relationships. I hold a graduate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and a doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Supervision (Ed.D), and I am licensed in Tennessee and Nebraska.
My approach is grounded in evidence-based practices such as EMDR, attachment-based, and relational therapy, with an emphasis on emotional safety and nervous system regulation. I specialize in helping clients who feel overwhelmed, emotionally depleted, or stuck following prolonged stress, betrayal, or high-conflict relationships.
My approach to therapy is trauma-informed, collaborative, and client-centered, with a strong emphasis on emotional safety. I integrate systems-based work to understand how family, relationship, and life experiences shape current patterns, alongside EMDR and attachment-based approaches. I work with individuals navigating trauma, anxiety, loss and grief, alcohol and substance abuse concerns, and recovery from narcissistic or toxic relationships.
Therapy is tailored to each client and may include building coping and grounding skills, exploring relationship dynamics, and, when appropriate, using EMDR to process unresolved experiences. My goal is to help clients restore balance, strengthen self-trust, and move forward with resilience and clarity.
The first session is focused on creating a safe, supportive, and private telehealth environment where you can feel comfortable and understood from your own space. We will talk about what brought you to therapy, your current concerns, and what you hope to gain, with no pressure to share more than you are ready to share. I will also explain how I work in a virtual setting, what therapy may look like moving forward, and how approaches such as EMDR can be adapted for telehealth when appropriate.
Together, we begin identifying initial goals, such as reducing anxiety or distress, processing loss or trauma, strengthening boundaries, or increasing emotional regulation and self-trust. Most clients leave the first session feeling heard, supported, and clearer about next steps.
