Great to meet you!

I’m Tamedra, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist experienced in serving clients through telehealth across North Carolina and Virginia. I work with individuals, couples, and families navigating challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, relationship strain or family conflict, ADHD, grief, and more. Whatever brings you to therapy, you don't have to figure it out alone and I’d be honored to walk alongside you.

My approach to therapy

One of the greatest privileges of my work is witnessing clients feel empowered in embracing their strengths, gaining insight into themselves, and overcome their challenges. I believe clients are the experts on their own lives, and that therapy works best when you feel genuinely seen, heard, and accepted. I use a systemic lens to create a compassionate and collaborative space where you can show up exactly as you are. I look at clients as part of the whole picture. This means not only exploring what’s happening inside you, but also how your relationships, environment, and family patterns shape your experiences. This perspective makes it less about diagnosing what's “wrong” with you and more about understanding how you got here, and most importantly, where you want to go next. Together, we'll explore the experiences that have shaped you, process difficult emotions, build practical coping skills, and identify realistic goals that reflect what matters most to you. You bring the expertise on you, and I’ll bring the tools and insight that help us make sense of it together.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is really a conversation. I'm not running through a checklist or making quick judgments. My goal is to understand what has brought you here and what you're hoping for. During our first few sessions, we'll spend time getting to know one another. We'll talk about what's going on in your life, how it's affecting you, and what support looks like for you. I'll share a little about how I work, and we'll decide together whether it feels like a good fit. We’ll also create a plan that feels both supportive and attainable.
