Great to meet you!

Hello, my name is Tameka Dawkins, and I am a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. Thank you for visiting my profile. I provide a safe, compassionate, non-judgmental, culturally diverse environment and quality patient care through evidence-based practice. I have extensive experience working with adolescents and adults dealing with various mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, bipolar, insomnia, post-traumatic stress disorder, and ADHD.

My approach to therapy

My approach to providing care is through evidence-based practices and incorporating a holistic approach to identify and treat each client's needs. I will listen to, educate, and treat each individual's needs to provide the best clinical outcomes. Within this approach, I will provide medication management, psychotherapy services, or a combination of both to receive the best quality care.

What you can expect from me

The expectation from the first session is to create a safe, trusting, respectful, and non-judgmental environment by starting to get to know each client. Also, there will be a thorough psychiatric evaluation (such as medical, social, and family history) to understand each client better and develop a treatment plan. Then, our following sessions will entail a follow session that involves medication, psychotherapy, or a combination of both.
