Tamika Braveheart

As a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner in rural Virginia, as well as, a decade abroad managing health programs, my experience includes acute crisis management, addiction medicine, community health, and maternal and child health. Medication management, therapy, and holistic care for depression, anxiety, adjustment challenges, traumatic experiences, and bipolar disorders are my main areas of focus. Particular interest and expertise in working with children and families in foster care.

You're doing your best but you just don't feel like yourself and just want a win! My style is kind and compassionate but I'm also honest and direct. I don't have a one-size-fits-all approach, as each person has a unique backstory and strengths that will guide our work together.

Please come as you are. In our first session, we'll spend time talking about your goals. What brings you to care, what do you hope to achieve, and what strengths do you have that we can build on? Kids in the background, on your lunch break with mustard on your face, or haven't showered in a few days? This is your time and this is a judgement-free zone!
