Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Dr. Tanya Baca, DNP, PMHNP-BC, CNM. I'm a dual board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner and certified nurse midwife who believes mental health care should be compassionate, collaborative, and free of judgment. I work with adolescents (15+), adults, men, women, and perinatal clients experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD (including non-stimulant treatment options), bipolar disorder, OCD, PTSD, insomnia, and life transitions. I also have specialized expertise in reproductive psychiatry, including pregnancy, postpartum, PMDD, infertility, and menopause. My goal is to create a safe space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to take an active role in your mental health.

My approach to therapy

I believe you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to partner with you, not simply tell you what to do. I take time to understand your story, your goals, and the factors that influence your mental health before creating an individualized treatment plan. Together, we'll discuss medication options, therapy, lifestyle changes, and evidence-based integrative approaches when appropriate. I believe in using the least medication necessary while helping you understand why we're making each treatment decision. My goal is for you to leave every appointment feeling heard, informed, and hopeful about your progress.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is all about getting to know you. We'll take time to understand your concerns, symptoms, medical history, goals, and what has or hasn't worked for you in the past. Together, we'll develop an individualized treatment plan that may include medication, therapy, lifestyle changes, or evidence-based integrative approaches. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, understood, educated, and confident in the plan we've created together.
