Great to meet you!

I’m Tashaniyi, a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and Certified Integrative Mental Health Professional. My path to psychiatry began in the ICU, where I trained at Johns Hopkins and the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center. Watching patients survive their worst moments made one thing clear: the body and mind are inseparable, and conventional care alone rarely tells the whole story.

That conviction shapes everything I do at Aurelia Integrative Psychiatric Care. I specialize in burnout, anxiety, depression, and mood disorders, and I work with high-performing professionals who have tried the standard approaches and still feel like something is missing. My care integrates psychiatric treatment with labs, pharmacogenetic testing, and nervous system restoration because I believe you deserve more than a prescription and a follow-up in 90 days.

I start where most providers stop.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative, unhurried, and built around you as a whole person, not just a diagnosis. I take time to understand your full history, your lifestyle, your patterns, and what has and hasn’t worked before. From there, we build a care plan that goes deeper than symptom management.

I work best with clients who are ready to be active participants in their own healing. I ask different questions, order different tests, and look in places most providers overlook. My goal is to understand the root of what you’re experiencing, not just treat the surface.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is not an intake. It is the beginning of something different.

You will have space to say what you have never quite been able to say in a 15-minute appointment. Your history, your frustrations, the things that have helped and the things that haven’t, the version of yourself you are trying to get back to. All of it matters here.

What I can offer is a space where you are truly heard, and a provider who will look at the full picture with you. For many clients, that alone feels like something they haven’t experienced in a long time.

This is where something new begins.
