Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Taylor Garff, a licensed therapist and the founder of Inner Heart Therapy. I work with adults who are navigating anxiety, stress, and identity, especially folks in the LGBTQ+ community or anyone feeling overwhelmed by life’s demands.

I’m someone who believes therapy should feel like a soft place to land, not another thing you have to “get right.” My clients tell me they appreciate my warmth, humor, and ability to hold space for both the hard stuff and the hope. I’ll meet you with curiosity, compassion, and no pressure to be anything other than fully human.

In our work together, we might explore your anxious thoughts, practice ways to feel safer and more grounded in your body, or untangle patterns that keep you stuck. I use a mix of tools—like cognitive-behavioral therapy, nervous system regulation, and the Safe and Sound Protocol,to support you in finding more ease, clarity, and connection in your life.

If you’ve ever felt like you had to explain or defend your experiences, I want you to know you won’t have to do that here. This is a space where all of you is welcome.

A bit about my approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to you. I believe therapy works best when it feels like a partnership, you’re the expert on your life, and I’m here to offer support, perspective, and tools to help you navigate what’s hard.

I focus on creating a warm, affirming space where you don’t have to explain or defend your identity or experiences, especially if you’re part of the LGBTQ+ community or living with anxiety. I blend evidence-based practices like cognitive-behavioral strategies, polyvagal-informed techniques, and nervous system regulation with a lot of curiosity, humor, and permission to be fully human.

My work often centers around helping clients feel less overwhelmed by their emotions, understand their stress responses, and build practical skills for staying grounded and connected in everyday life. Whether we’re untangling anxious thoughts, practicing nervous system regulation, or exploring what it means to set boundaries that actually stick, I’ll meet you where you’re at, without pressure to “fix” or rush the process.

What you can expect from our first session

Clients can expect a collaborative, nonjudgmental space where they feel seen, supported, and empowered to make meaningful changes at their own pace. Together, we focus on building self-awareness, developing practical coping tools, and creating more compassion toward yourself.

I typically help clients work toward goals like reducing anxiety and overwhelm, feeling more emotionally regulated, improving communication and boundaries, and reconnecting with their sense of agency and authenticity. While every client’s journey looks different, a common thread is learning how to show up for yourself with curiosity instead of criticism, and leaving sessions feeling more grounded, even on the hard days.

My approach blends evidence-based strategies with humor, warmth, and flexibility, so you never feel rushed or “wrong” for where you are. Expect a mix of deep work and real-world problem solving, all within a space that honors your identities, experiences, and humanity.
