Great to meet you!

I’m Dr. Teri Lynn Kim, a licensed mental health therapist with a private practice serving clients in Hawaii and Nevada, and I’m also an adjunct psychology professor. I hold a PhD in Clinical Psychology, a Master of Philosophy in Psychology, a Master’s in Professional Mental Health Counseling, and a BA in Education with an emphasis in Special Education. My approach to therapy is CBT-based, solution-focused, and can include Christian counseling for clients who desire faith-integrated support. I have over 10 years of experience working with diverse populations, including children, teens, adults, individuals, and couples. **I am currently accepting new clients only for Telehealth appointments.

My approach to therapy

I focus on changing distorted thought patterns, problematic behaviors, and unhealthy coping skills. I also respect that each patient is different with their own beliefs and cultural values. I work with patients focusing on anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, stress, anger, addictions, relationships, multiculturalism, and Christian counseling.

What you can expect from me

I am passionate to help patients develop effective strategies to optimize themselves through their difficulties. It is important to me that each patient experiences a non-judgemental and safe place in each session. The therapeutic relationship is individualized with empathy and genuine care. If you feel stuck or experience life challenges, I am here for you!
