Great to meet you!

In 2021 I received a Masters of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lenoir Rhyne University. I am also a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist and have been working in the substance use field for 11 years. I am also a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate. I have worked with adolescents and adults in long term treatment facilities and within a private practice setting. I also worked in a wilderness therapy setting. I have worked with clients presenting with substance use disorder, trauma, anxiety, depression, and co-dependency.

My approach to therapy

My primary focus is to hold a compassionate, empowering, and non judgmental space where you can feel safe to explore all sensations, thoughts, and emotions that are present. In session we will discover what beliefs, relationships, and behaviors are preventing you from feeling a sense of ease, purpose, and joy within your life. I will often utilize internal family systems in session, where we explore the various childhood parts in you that feel stuck or abandoned and need your presence and attention. In sessions I also utilize, mindfulness, ritual, spirituality, breathwork, and somatic awareness. My aim is to consistently be a reflection of empowerment and love so you may move away from shame and towards self forgiveness and self trust. Over time the hope is you gain a sense of clarity and trust to know your desires and have the ability to move towards a life that is aligned with your personal truth.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we will create a space that holds curiosity, compassion, and depth. We will explore what your desires and goals are in life and what core beliefs, behavioral patterns, or narratives are blocking you from meeting them. We will look at your upbringing and how some of these beliefs may have been carried down and how they continue to play out presently. We will look at how these protective beliefs and behaviors are preventing a life of deep connection with self, other, and the world around you.
