Great to meet you!

Hello, and thank you for taking the time to learn more about me. My name is Curley, and I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) based in Maryland. My approach to therapy is grounded in existential and philosophical perspectives, supporting clients as they explore meaning, identity, and personal growth.

I have extensive experience working in inpatient and residential treatment settings, where I’ve supported individuals across a wide range of clinical needs and specialties. These experiences have shaped a flexible, compassionate, and client-centered approach to care.

Prior to my work in mental health, I served in the U.S. Army. This background gives me a deep, personal understanding of the unique challenges faced by service members and their families, which I am honored to integrate into my clinical work.

My approach to therapy

At our core, we are all human—doing the best we can with the circumstances and understanding available to us, while striving for a more meaningful and fulfilling life. Yet there are moments when the weight of existence, uncertainty, or disconnection calls for deeper reflection and support. Therapy can offer a space to explore not only the world around you, but also your inner landscape with greater clarity and intention.

My approach is grounded in an existential perspective, where emotions are understood as a vital language—one that communicates needs, values, and truths that may not yet be fully realized. Together, we work to interpret these signals, navigate internal conflicts, and cultivate a more integrated sense of self. Through attention to the mental, physical, and cognitive dimensions of experience, the goal is to support a more authentic, balanced, and meaningful way of living.

What you can expect from me

In our first session—and in every session that follows—you can expect to be met with curiosity, openness, and genuine respect for your lived experience. I approach therapy as a collaborative process, where your perspective is valued and where I, too, remain engaged in learning and understanding your unique story.

Together, we will work to create an environment grounded in trust, mutual understanding, and meaningful dialogue. Sessions are intended to be both supportive and informative, offering space for exploration while also fostering insight and practical growth.

A central goal of our work is to ensure that each session feels purposeful and worthwhile. Your time is a valuable and finite resource, and I strive to help you leave each session with a sense of clarity, progress, or reflection that feels meaningful to you.
