Great to meet you!

Hello, my name is Thomas Marz, and I’m so glad you’re considering working with me. I hold a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from the University of Kentucky, with a certificate in Clinical Mental Health Practice. With extensive training in treating teenagers and adults, I specialize in supporting individuals with depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, OCD, ADHD, and addictions. My approach is rooted in evidence-based practices, and I’m committed to providing compassionate, individualized care. I strive to create a warm, welcoming space where we can work together toward healing and lasting change. I look forward to the opportunity to support you on your journey.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is integrative and personalized to meet your unique needs. As an integrative cognitive-behavioral therapist, I draw from a variety of evidence-based approaches, including CBT, DBT, CPT, ACT, motivational interviewing, and psychodynamic therapy. I focus on uncovering the root causes of your challenges, exploring deeper, underlying issues that may be at the heart of your symptoms.

I believe in creating a safe and supportive space where you can reflect, process life’s challenges, and gain insights into the factors shaping your experiences. Additionally, we’ll explore the brain and neuroplasticity, discussing ways to care for your brain to make therapy as effective as possible. My goal is to guide you through a holistic and empowering healing process that promotes lasting growth and well-being.

What you can expect from me

In sessions with me, you can expect to gain a deeper understanding of yourself and the root causes of the challenges you're facing. I create a warm, non-judgmental space where you can feel comfortable reflecting, processing, and exploring your experiences. Together, we'll set personalized goals that are meaningful to you, helping you move forward in a way that aligns with your values and needs.

Using a blend of evidence-based approaches, we'll work on building the tools and strategies you need to manage life’s ups and downs with more confidence and resilience. My hope is that you leave each session feeling heard, empowered, and with a clearer sense of direction for your healing and growth.
