Great to meet you!

I've worked with every stage of life - teenagers figuring themselves out, working adults running on empty, older adults navigating major transitions - and I've learned that there's no one-size-fits-all when it comes to getting better. What you'll get from me is full attention, an honest approach, and a commitment to meeting you where you actually are. I spent years in inpatient care, and what kept pulling me back to outpatient work is this: I love watching people move forward. That's what I'm here for.

My approach to therapy

I pull from CBT, Motivational Interviewing, ACT, Seeking Safety, and strength-based approaches depending on what makes sense for you. Seeking Safety in particular is something I use intentionally: it was designed for people navigating trauma and substance use at the same time, and it works. I also bring psychodynamic and narrative frameworks when the work calls for it. If you've dealt with addiction alongside anxiety, depression, or PTSD, I won't treat those as separate problems - co-occurring challenges need an integrated approach, and that's exactly what I bring. I'm currently expanding my EMDR training and military-competency work, because I believe my job is to keep getting better at this.

What you can expect from me

Expect a real conversation. In your first session, I want to understand what's actually going on: what's brought you here, what you've tried before, and what would make you feel like this time is different. I'll be direct, I'll ask real questions, and I won't pretend I have all the answers right away. What I will do is listen well and start building a plan that makes sense for your life. I see clients via telehealth all throughout North Carolina and accept most insurances (Aetna, Cigna, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina, Carelon, and more) to keep therapy affordable. If any of these resonates, please reach out. I'd love to hear from you.
