Great to meet you!
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a proud Black woman who understands the importance of having a therapist who truly “gets it.” My personal journey, identity, and lived experiences shape the way I show up in the therapy room. As someone who has navigated my own seasons of transition, loss, healing, and growth, I bring a grounded, human approach to my work with clients.
I earned my Master’s degree in Counseling at Oakland University and have spent years supporting individuals, families, and communities through a wide range of emotional and life challenges. My professional background includes work inner city schools, community organizations, and private practice, where I’ve helped clients navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship concerns, self-esteem, identity development, and major life transitions.
I specialize in working with adolescents, teens, and adults, Black and multicultural clients, and those who are balancing multiple roles, expectations, and pressures. I am passionate about creating a safe, affirming space for clients who may feel overlooked, misunderstood, or exhausted from carrying too much for too long.
My therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, and straightforward. I use an integrative approach that blends Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based practices, person-centered therapy, and culturally responsive frameworks. My goal is to help you slow down, connect with yourself, and build tools that support both immediate relief and long-term growth. Clients often tell me they appreciate my ability to listen without judgement.
I believe therapy is not just about coping—it’s about reclaiming your voice, healing old wounds, and allowing yourself to step into the life you deserve. If you’re looking for a therapist who brings professional expertise, cultural understanding, and real-life wisdom, I would be honored to walk with you on your journey.
