Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Timothy Covington, a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) dedicated to helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life’s challenges with greater clarity, confidence, and connection.

I hold a Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling from Winston-Salem State University and have experience providing counseling services to adolescents, adults, couples, and families. My therapeutic approach is informed by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Person-Centered Therapy, and strengths-based counseling.

I work with clients experiencing relationship concerns, life transitions, emotional challenges, self-esteem concerns, men's issues, and personal growth. I believe therapy should be a safe space where you can be honest without judgment, gain a deeper understanding of yourself, and develop practical tools for meaningful change.

My goal is to help you not only navigate what you're experiencing today, but also build the insight, confidence, and skills needed to move forward with purpose. You don't have to navigate it alone.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and focused on meaningful change. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to provide a safe, judgment-free space where you can explore your experiences, understand patterns, and develop practical tools for moving forward.

I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Person-Centered Therapy, and strengths-based approaches. I tailor therapy to your individual needs rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach.

Whether you are navigating relationship challenges, life transitions, emotional struggles, men's issues, or simply feel stuck, we will work together to identify what is getting in the way and create a path toward greater clarity, healthier relationships, and personal growth. My goal is for you to leave therapy feeling seen, empowered, and equipped for change.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect their first session to be a welcoming, judgment-free space where we begin getting to know one another and understand what brought you to therapy. We’ll talk about your current concerns, goals, and what you hope to gain from counseling. I’ll also explain what you can expect from me and the therapy process, while giving you an opportunity to ask questions.

Most importantly, there is no pressure to have everything figured out on day one. We’ll start where you are and work together to determine what you need to move forward.
