Great to meet you!

I began my career working with children as a certified teacher. I taught for 9 years in public schools working with elementary through middle school students. I quickly realized that in a teaching role I wasn’t able to support the social/emotional needs of my students and needed to do more. I attended graduate school to pursue a Masters degree in School Counseling. Since graduating with my Masters degree from Capella University, I have worked as a middle school counselor.

In 2023 decided to begin working as a clinical counselor. Doing so expands my ability to support a more diverse set of individuals. I have worked with clients struggling with anxiety, depression, relationships & conflicts, self-esteem, self harm, grief & loss, and life transitions. In addition, I have years of experience working with school issues including 504 plans, IEP's, learning disabilities, college planning, bullying, and test anxiety.

I see clients as young as 5 years old through adulthood. I look forward to supporting you with your challenges, goals, and celebrating your accomplishments.

My approach to therapy

As a counselor, I take an integrative approach that draws from Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), depending on your needs and goals. I believe effective therapy begins with a strong, trusting relationship and is guided by collaboration, respect, and compassion.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect goal oriented and solution driven treatment. They will leave with transferable skills and coping mechanisms that will allow them to be successful across all aspects of life.
