Great to meet you!

For as long as I can remember, I have been obsessed with trying to understand who and what we are as humans. Having lived abroad for almost 7 years and traveled to nearly 40 countries, I am passionate about learning the social construct in which clients operate and supporting their growth and healing within this context.

Building on a rigorous liberal arts undergraduate program at St. John's College in Annapolis, MD, I completed a graduate program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at John's Hopkins University, and I read/study extensively across a broad spectrum of disciplines.

My approach to therapy

My approach is holistic, viewing problems as interwoven parts of the whole person – mind, body, environment, and the interpersonal. I see counseling as a collaborative process to empower my clients through developing awareness and supporting their journey to find healing and effective ways of getting their needs met.

In addition to individual psychotherapy, small group process, and couples/family counseling, I also offer professional workshops and staff training. Drawing from a broad range of disciplines such as biology, neuroscience, philosophy, psychology, anthropology, etc., I utilize a broad range of creative, expressive and projective therapeutic approaches, including but not limited to Narrative Sand Therapy, Gestalt, metaphor, dream work and meditation.

What you can expect from me

My goal is to empower clients through focused attention to both their verbal and nonverbal communication, reflecting and confirming layers of experience and perception which are often taken for granted or go unnoticed.

I see therapy as a space both for developing insight and deeper self-awareness, as well as for reframing problems and exploring/modeling ways to deal with them.
