Great to meet you!

I graduated in 2008 and 2009 with a bachelor’s and master’s degree, respectively, from Florida State University’s Social Work program. I moved to Michigan just after graduation, where I received my clinical license, and have over fifteen years of experience in the mental health field that includes work in residential facilities for youth and home-based counseling services in Calhoun County for more than ten years. I have received training in cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, trauma focused-cognitive behavioral therapy, love and logic parenting practices, 7-Challenges, and various other clinical interventions over that time.

During my time in Calhoun county, I worked primarily with youth ranging from 5 years old to 17 years old and their families. Over the last 5 years, my focus has started to shift more to older adolescents and adults. I have worked with children and adults who have struggles with depression, anxiety, ADHD, oppositional defiance, low self-esteem, life orientation, psychosis, and suicidality to name a few of the most common issues. I have a strong passion for helping to guide others through the stressors of life, particularly parents who are struggling with their children and their own emotional states when providing direction. I look forward to meeting each and every one of you; if I cannot be of service, then I will always work to help you find referrals to someone that hopefully can help.

My approach to therapy

I provide a safe, non-judgmental environment to help you, your child, and/or your family learn to identify the root of the problem, find effective ways to manage said problem, and hopefully return to a more positive, healthy life. I use research and evidenced-based practices to guide clients through their journey of healing.

What you can expect from me

We would focus on a combination of your history and what specifically brought you to counseling at that moment. The goal would be to gather enough information to best understand the problems before deciding on a treatment goal/path.
