Great to meet you!
My path into social work was not the most direct one. I studied Organizational Science at the University of Idaho and spent a good amount of time thinking about how systems work and how people move within them. What kept pulling at me was the person inside the system. What does it actually look like to help someone access their own capacity to move forward? That question is what eventually brought me to a Master of Social Work at Arizona State and into behavioral health work. I went into this field because I want to empower people, and that belief has stayed at the center of everything I do since.
