Great to meet you!

Hello, and welcome! My name is Dr Tinuoly Shokunbi, and I’m a Psychiatric Mental Health Practitioner. Board Certified with 17years of experience supporting individuals on their mental health and wellness journeys. I provide compassionate, client-centered care and am dedicated to helping clients build meaningful lives through personalized and evidence-based approaches.

I earned my Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Walden University, and my professional background includes working in community mental health, integrated healthcare settings, and outpatient therapy services. I have experience supporting individuals facing a variety of challenges, including depression, anxiety, life transitions, trauma, and housing instability.

My practice is grounded in empathy, respect, and cultural humility. I often incorporate approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Strengths-Based Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing, tailored to meet each client’s unique needs.

I’m passionate about empowering clients to identify their strengths, build resilience, and achieve their personal goals. Whether you're navigating a difficult life change, managing a mental health diagnosis, or simply seeking support, I’m here to walk alongside you every step of the way.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is holistic, client-centered, and trauma-informed. I believe in meeting clients where they are—honoring their lived experiences, values, and goals. Building a strong therapeutic relationship based on trust, empathy, and collaboration is at the heart of my practice.

I integrate evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Strengths-Based Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing to help clients navigate challenges, develop coping strategies, and foster emotional resilience. I also emphasize the importance of self-care, empowerment, and building on existing strengths to support long-term wellness.

I recognize that healing is not one-size-fits-all, and I strive to create a safe, supportive space where clients can feel heard, respected, and supported in their journey toward growth and stability.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect to leave sessions feeling heard, supported, and empowered. My goal is to provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences with honesty and self-compassion.
