Great to meet you!
Hi! I am Tish Wakefield, a clinical social worker licensed in Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, California, Michigan, and Florida. I have been practicing for 25 years. I specialize in helping culturally diverse, LGBTQIA, and neurodivergent adults improve wellbeing, coping, and relationships. Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked as a cancer researcher in academia, in the pharmaceutical industry, and in biotechnology business development.
I am trained to provide a safe and affirming space for the LGBTQIA+ community and allies. I attained Level 2 certification from the Gottman Institute in Gottman Method Couple Therapy. I practice with an eclectic skill set blending curiosity, humanistic principles, and strengths perspective with evidenced-based treatment methods.
I maintain clinical licenses in Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, California, Michigan, and Florida. Patients need to be located in one of these states at the time of the appointment.
My clinical practice focuses on neurodivergence, LGBTQIA, cultural diversity, and relationships. Please note: I do not work with children or teens under 18. Because I provide virtual therapy, clients with substance abuse issues, severe, disabling, or life-threatening symptoms, or needing outside paperwork, consultations, or testimony should pursue in-person services in their local community.
Hours are Monday - Thursday; I am based on the East Coast so do not have evening Pacific time availability. I look forward to helping you!
