Great to meet you!

Hello and Welcome. My name is Tricia L. Speller. I received a Master’s of Science (MS) degree in Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor licensed by the North Carolina Board of Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselors. I am a Nationally Certified Trauma Focused CBT (TFCBT) therapist.

My approach to therapy

My theoretical orientation is integrative. This means, while I work primarily from a person-centered prospective, I also borrow concepts and techniques from other counseling theories such as CBT, DBT and REBT as appropriate. During the course of treatment, I will sometimes implement play therapy, art therapy, music therapy or other techniques that I believe will be effective for you. I will also frequently use homework assignments to help you continue work outside of sessions.

What you can expect from me

During our sessions, you can expect to be in a judgment free environment. My goal is to assist you in finding the answers that help gain insight and instill a sense of hope. If I do not believe that I have the experience or training necessary to work with your particular situation, I will refer you to another mental health professional that can more effectively work with your concerns or difficulties.
