Great to meet you!

"What the mind suppresses the body expresses"

I have over ten years of experience working with adults living with serious mental illness and addiction, including conditions such as schizophrenia, major depression, anxiety, trauma, and bipolar disorder. Through this work, I have developed a deep respect for the resilience people demonstrate while managing complex mental health challenges, and I strive to meet each individual with compassion, patience, and understanding.

My approach to therapy

I have found that one of the most powerful elements of therapy is the therapeutic relationship itself. Feeling understood, respected, and supported creates the foundation needed for meaningful and lasting change. My approach focuses on building a genuine, collaborative connection where you feel safe exploring your experiences at your own pace. I also have a particular interest in exploring the somatic expression of our mental health, or how our bodies can give us clues as to what is happening in our minds. Together, we can work to better understand the challenges you’re facing, including patterns or underlying factors that may not always be immediately clear. Increasing awareness opens the door to new perspectives and possibilities for change.

While insight is an important part of the process, I also believe therapy should help you move forward in practical ways. We will partner together on identifying realistic solutions and strategies that support your goals and help improve the quality of your day-to-day life.

What you can expect from me

Seeking therapy is a courageous first step!

In our first session, we will begin laying the groundwork for your treatment. This typically includes discussing what has brought you to therapy, identifying your strengths as well as areas where you would like to see growth, and gathering the information needed to develop a thoughtful treatment plan. I will also ask questions that help clinically support a diagnosis where it applies, which can guide the direction of treatment and ensure you receive the most effective, evidence based care.

Finding the right therapist is an important part of the process, and our first interaction can help you decide if my style and experience align with what you’re looking for.
