My approach to therapy

Twila's expertise extends beyond traditional counseling methods, as she is also a registered play therapist-Supervisor and a certified autism specialist. Additionally, she is certified as a provider of Autplay therapy, a specialized approach that combines play therapy and behavioral therapy to effectively treat individuals with autism, neurodevelopmental disorders, and developmental disabilities.

Twila has extensive training and experience in conducting psychological and educational assessments, including specialized training in the administration of the ADOS-2 assessment instrument known as the “gold standard” for confirming or ruling out diagnosis for autism spectrum disorder.

Twila's expertise is not confined to her private practice. She frequently serves as an expert witness in court-related cases, providing valuable testimony in multiple courts across North Texas. Furthermore, she offers mental health training and supervision to LPC Associates and professionals seeking their certification as a registered play therapist.
