Great to meet you!

Hello! My name is Val McGann and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I’m truly excited to meet you and be part of your healing journey! My passion lies in helping you embrace your unique experiences, uncover your inner strengths, and recognize the incredible gifts you already possess. Together, we’ll create a space where growth feels empowering, and self-discovery becomes an inspiring process.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative, holistic, and eclectic—because life isn’t one-size-fits-all! I tailor therapy to fit your unique journey, blending different techniques to find what works best for you. Whether it’s deep reflection, practical tools, strategies, or a little humor along the way, we’ll create a process that feels right and helps you navigate life with confidence.

I often work with those seeking support through life transitions, women's issues, anxiety, depression, grief, self-esteem, relationship struggles, family dynamics, as well as identity work including racial, biracial, multiracial, cultural, spiritual, immigrant, and LGBT+ identities.

What you can expect from me

Working with me feels like having a supportive co-pilot—someone who listens without judgment, offers thoughtful insights (with the occasional chuckle), and gently challenges you to grow. My goal is to make therapy engaging, empowering, and a space where you can truly be yourself.

I approach goal setting as a collaborative and flexible process, tailoring it to your unique needs and pace. Together, we’ll define meaningful goals, break them into manageable steps, and celebrate progress along the way. Think of it as mapping your journey—you're in the driver’s seat, and I’m here to help navigate, offering support and the occasional reality check to keep you on track.
