About Me

Hello, my name is Valerie. I feel privileged that you are reading this to potentially help you, a loved one, or someone you know. I would love to join you on your journey of nurturing your emotional health. My philosophy in counseling is to help others be the best version of themselves, reach their potential with their goals, guide them on how to get there while overcoming any barriers, and to promote healing.

I help treat the following: relieving anxiety and stressors, improving mood, strengthening social skills, increasing self-esteem, healing trauma, infertility, pregnancy, postpartum issues, strengthening relationships and parenting skills, coping with adjustments, sports performance, and cultural issues. I am also trained in many areas of addiction. I work with children, adolescents, families, and couples.

I am trained in a variety of modalities that I will use to best treat each individual. I may use EMDR, CBT, TF-CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Experiential Play Therapy, Dreamwork, Reality Therapy, or Existential Therapy.

I am a trained facilitator for Love & Logic and Triple P, and I incorporate those models along with the nurtured heart approach when working with families with children.

I invite you to contact me, and let’s see how I can help with what you are experiencing or have experienced. Sometimes, because we have had symptoms for a long period of time, we may normalize those things. Through the process of therapy, we can help you acknowledge that you don’t have to live with those symptoms long-term. We are here to help you with long-term or short-term needs.
