Great to meet you!

Seeking help takes courage, and I'm glad you're here. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you feel heard, respected, and involved in every step of your care.

I am Vanessa Richardson, DNP, PMHNP-BC, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 20 years of healthcare experience. I provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and supportive therapy for adolescents and adults experiencing ADHD, anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, mood disorders, sleep difficulties, and substance use concerns.

I believe mental health treatment is not one size fits all. I take the time to understand your unique experiences, strengths, and goals so we can develop a treatment plan that fits your needs. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and evidence-based, combining education, medication when appropriate, and practical strategies to help you feel your best.

Whether you are seeking clarity about your symptoms, starting treatment for the first time, or looking for ongoing support, I am committed to helping you build lasting skills, improve your well-being, and feel confident in your journey toward better mental health.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, collaborative, and judgment-free. I strive to create a space where you feel comfortable sharing your experiences and confident that your concerns will be heard.

I take the time to understand the whole person, not just the symptoms. Together, we explore the factors affecting your mental health and develop an individualized treatment plan that aligns with your goals, values, and lifestyle.

What you can expect from me

During your first session, we'll spend time getting to know each other and discussing what brings you to treatment. I'll ask questions about your symptoms, medical and mental health history, current concerns, and goals so I can gain a complete understanding of your needs.

You'll have the opportunity to ask questions, share what's most important to you, and collaborate on a personalized treatment plan. If medication is appropriate, we'll discuss your options, including the benefits and potential risks, so you can make informed decisions. My goal is for you to leave the session feeling heard, supported, and with a clear plan for moving forward.
