Honestly, starting therapy can feel a little intimidating. You’re sitting down with someone you don't know yet to talk about personal stuff, maybe even things you’ve never shared before. For some, that feels nerve-racking, while for others, it feels like a weight that has been lifted. Everyone comes into it differently, and that is totally okay. My main priority is simply making our first session as comfortable and low-pressure as possible.
Since we’ll meet online through a secure video link, you can join right from the comfort of your home or even privately in your parked car. We’ll take the first few minutes to ease in, go over quick paperwork, and answer any questions so you know exactly what to expect.
From there, it’s really just a casual conversation to explore what brought you in and a bit of your background. You don't need to dive into your deepest secrets right away, so feel free to share only what feels comfortable. You also don't need to have anything figured out just to show up. We’ll simply talk about what’s going on in your life right now and some goals you might want to work toward.
You can expect honesty, real support, and a warm, zero-judgment space. I also sometimes like to sprinkle in some humor because therapy shouldn't always feel heavy. It's real life, and we can laugh too.
My goal for our first session is to make sure we're a great fit. Therapy works best when you genuinely click with your therapist, making the process feel easier, more relaxed, and way less daunting. If you decide you want to work with me, great! If not, that’s okay too. My priority is helping you find the right space, whether that’s with me or someone else. Above all else, I want to make sure you feel seen and supported, turning therapy into something you actually look forward to that fits into your life. From there, we map out a plan together and get to work.
Thanks for reading my page, and I hope to connect with you soon!
