Great to meet you!

Hi, I am Victor Lissade. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. I specialize in trauma, PTSD, complex trauma, and shame- and anger-focused work using DBT‐informed, trauma‐sensitive approaches. I provide culturally responsive care to adults, children, teens, couples, and families, blending practical skills (mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation) with trauma-focused methods (CPT/TF‐CBT, narrative work) so clients can feel safer, calmer, and more in control.

I provide trauma‐informed, DBT‐centered care that blends practical skills and evidence‐based therapies to help you feel safer, more regulated, and more in control. In sessions, we focus on stabilization and skill‐building (mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, interpersonal effectiveness), trauma‐focused work for PTSD and complex trauma (phase‐based processing, CPT‐informed approaches, and narrative meaning‐making), and shame‐sensitive interventions (self‐compassion, imagery rescripting, and gradual behavioral experiments). I offer individual and family therapy, crisis assessment and safety planning, measurable treatment goals, DBT coaching and skills rehearsal, and coordinated care with medical or psychiatric providers as needed — all delivered in a culturally responsive, validating, and collaborative way.

My focus areas are:

• ADHD • Anxiety and Depression • Anger management • Behavioral issues and Chronic pain • Family and relationship issues • Life stress and transitions • LGBTQIA+ support and identity work • Mood disorders (including bipolar) • Men’s issues • Sexual and physical abuse • Schizophrenia • Trauma, grief, and PTSD.

My approach to therapy

My therapeutic style is warm, direct, and collaborative—prioritizing validation, client empowerment, measurable skill acquisition, and culturally responsive care. As a proud gay African American clinician and ally to the LGBTQIA+ community, I strive to create a nonjudgmental space where clients feel seen and respected.

What you can expect from me

In our first sessions, I prioritize creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can exhale and feel truly heard. We’ll build a trusting relationship, explore the pressures you’re facing, clarify your values and priorities, and collaboratively develop practical tools to help you move through life with greater ease, resilience, and self‐acceptance.
