Dr. Wendi Watson is a licensed clinical social worker and clinical addiction specialist with extensive experience in mental health and substance use treatment. She holds a Ph.D. in Social Work from Walden University, with a focus on clinical social work and addiction, and her research explores co-occurring disorders within the juvenile justice system. Dr. Watson also earned an MSW and BSW from North Carolina Central University.

My approach to therapy

Dr. Watson specializes in providing therapy for youth and adults, particularly in the areas of mental health, substance use, and co-occurring disorders. She employs evidence-based approaches such as CBT, DBT, and motivational interviewing. With a strong commitment to community service, she serves as a youth/teen mental health instructor, teaches social work courses at NCCU, and leads Empowered Citizens, a nonprofit organization dedicated to mental health and substance use education.
