Great to meet you!

I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor with 26 years of experience and an 22-year background as a school counselor—which means I understand what anxiety actually looks like in a 12-year-old's classroom behavior, not just in a textbook. I work with children, teens, and adults across Michigan entirely online, which means wherever you are in the state, you can access care that actually fits your schedule and your insurance. My deepest work is with women healing from narcissistic abuse and infidelity—the kind of slow, invisible harm that often takes years to name. I also bring a faith-informed perspective for clients who want their spiritual values to be part of the healing process, never pushed aside for it. You don't have to choose between your faith and your mental health here.

My approach to therapy

My style is warm, direct, and practical—I'm not going to have you sit in silence while I take notes. I draw on EMDR (for anxiety, trauma, and recovery from narcissistic abuse), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Attachment-Based Therapy, and Trauma-Focused CBT, blending approaches based on what each person actually needs. I take a strengths-based stance: I believe you already have most of what you need to heal, and my job is to help you access it and build on it. I work well with people who are tired of generic advice and ready for a therapist who will be honest, engaged, and specific about their situation.

What you can expect from me

We'll spend the first session getting to know each other—I'll ask questions about what brought you here, your history, and what you're hoping to change or understand. You set the pace. If there are things you're not ready to talk about yet, that's completely fine. By the end of our first hour together, my goal is that you leave with at least one concrete thing to think about or try, and a clear sense of whether working together feels right. Scheduling your first session is the hardest step—after that, it tends to get a lot easier.
