Great to meet you!

Parenting a kid who is struggling, or being a teen who feels like everyone is on your case, can wear a whole family down. I'm Will, a licensed professional counselor offering telehealth across Oregon and Wyoming. Much of my career has been with kids, teens, and parents, including families in the juvenile justice system. I'd be glad to meet you.

My approach to therapy

My approach is practical and strength-based. With kids, teens, and adults, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to spot the thoughts and habits that keep anxiety, depression, and stress going, then practice new ways to respond. For families, I use Cognitive Behavioral Family Therapy so parents and kids work on the same plan, and with younger children I use play therapy. I also help with trauma and PTSD, ADHD, grief and loss, OCD, relationship issues, men's issues, and substance use. I'll be honest with you about what I see, and I'll never ask for more sessions than you actually need.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is mostly about getting to know you. We'll talk about what's going on, what you've already tried, and what you want to be different. If I'm working with a child or teen, I'll usually meet with a parent too, so everyone knows the plan. You'll leave with clear next steps and the sense that someone is in your corner.
