Great to meet you!

My name is Willie Johnson. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Nevada with over 30 years of experience working with individuals, couples, families, and groups. I hold a Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Social Work from Mississippi Valley State University.

I work with clients dealing with anger, trauma, attachment issues, depression, anxiety, mood disorders, addiction, and relationship challenges across all age groups. My practice is in-person in Las Vegas and telehealth throughout Nevada and Utah.

What drives everything I do is a core belief: YOU ARE NOT YOUR FEELINGS, YOUR THOUGHTS, OR YOUR EMOTIONS. The real you is far greater than what you feel in any given moment. That distinction is where healing begins.

Resources for Your Journey

You don’t have to become my client to benefit from the resources available at: www.SadnessIsAPimp.com.

I believe helpful information, encouragement, and practical tools should be accessible whether you’re currently in therapy, considering therapy, supporting someone you care about, or simply looking for guidance on your own.

The resources at www.SadnessIsAPimp.com are here for you to explore at your own pace. Use what is helpful, return when you need it, and share resources with others who may benefit.

If you decide that you would like additional support and believe working with me may be a good fit, you can also learn more about my services and how to get started.

No pressure.

No obligation. Just resources, support, and a place to begin.

My approach to therapy

I developed an approach I call Advanced Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (ACBT)—an evolution of traditional CBT shaped by my clinical experience and insights into human behavior. Rather than focusing only on changing thoughts and behaviors, ACBT helps uncover what is actually driving destructive patterns beneath the surface. The goal is to help clients understand themselves more deeply, release guilt and emotional pain, and develop the capacity to forgive both themselves and others.

My work also draws from Cognitive Processing Therapy, Psychodynamic and Emotionally Focused approaches, Positive Psychology, and, for clients who desire it, Christian Counseling.

At the heart of my approach is a simple but powerful goal: helping you distinguish your original, true self from the secondary thoughts, emotions, beliefs, and protective patterns that have come to influence how you see yourself, others, and the world.

When you begin to recognize the difference, you can stop allowing old pain and learned patterns to run the show—and begin responding to life from a clearer, more authentic sense of who you are.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is a chance to get acquainted. I want to understand what has brought you to therapy, your history, and what you want your life to look like on the other side of this work. I will ask questions and I will listen closely.

By the end of our first meeting, you will know whether my approach is the right fit. PLEASE STOP BEATING YOURSELF UP for waiting this long to reach out.

Remember, Sadness Is A Pimp.
