Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Master's Social Worker (LMSW) with extensive clinical experience and a PhD in Infant and Early Childhood Development, with a specialization in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). My educational background and professional experience have shaped my commitment to supporting the emotional, behavioral, and developmental needs of children, adolescents, adults, and families.

Throughout my career, I have worked extensively in community mental health, trauma-informed care, grief and loss, substance use treatment, and family counseling. I have a particular passion for working with neurodivergent individuals and supporting parents and caregivers as they navigate the unique challenges associated with developmental differences.

My passion for mental health extends beyond my professional training. I believe that every individual deserves to feel heard, understood, and supported, regardless of the challenges they face. My goal is to help individuals and families recognize their strengths, develop meaningful connections, and build the confidence needed to navigate life's difficulties.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is compassionate, collaborative, and tailored to the unique needs of each individual. I believe that effective therapy begins with understanding the whole person, including their experiences, relationships, developmental history, and the challenges that influence their emotional well-being.

I integrate evidence-informed therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, trauma-informed care, and DIR/Floortime (Developmental, Individual-differences, Relationship-based). My training in DIR/Floortime is particularly important in my work with children and neurodivergent individuals, as it emphasizes emotional connections, individual developmental differences, and relationship-based interactions that support communication, emotional regulation, and social-emotional growth.

I also recognize the important role that family relationships and environmental factors play in mental health. When appropriate, I incorporate parents and caregivers into the therapeutic process to strengthen relationships and develop practical strategies that support progress beyond our sessions.

Ultimately, my goal is to create a therapeutic experience that promotes self-awareness, builds resilience, and empowers individuals and families to achieve meaningful, lasting change.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a trusting therapeutic relationship. I understand that seeking therapy can feel overwhelming, and my priority is to create a welcoming, comfortable, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel heard, respected, and supported.

During our initial session, we will discuss what brings you to therapy, explore relevant personal and developmental history, and identify the concerns or challenges you would like to address. I will also take time to understand your strengths, experiences, and goals so that we can begin developing an individualized approach to treatment.

For children and adolescents, I recognize the importance of building rapport at their own pace while incorporating parents or caregivers when appropriate. My goal is to ensure that everyone feels comfortable with the therapeutic process and understands how we can work together.

Above all, I want you to leave our first session feeling understood, encouraged, and confident that we can begin working toward meaningful change together.
