Great to meet you!

I’m Yilian Herrera, a bilingual English- and Spanish-speaking therapist who works with teens, young adults, and adults navigating anxiety, stress, life transitions, relationship challenges, self-esteem, and identity-related concerns. I have been in the psychology field for 19 years. I also provide LGBTQ+ affirming and culturally responsive care.

My approach is warm, client-centered, and collaborative. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and therapy is a space where we can work together to better understand your experiences, build effective coping skills, and create meaningful change. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply ready to invest in yourself, you don’t have to navigate life’s challenges alone.

Taking the first step toward therapy can feel intimidating, but you can expect to be met with compassion, curiosity, and respect. My goal is to help you feel supported and empowered as you work toward becoming more grounded, confident, and connected to the life you want to create.

My approach to therapy

Finding the right therapist starts with feeling truly seen, and that's exactly what you can expect here. My approach is client-centered and humanistic, which means our work together starts with you: your story, your pace, your needs.

You won't be judged. You won't have to explain or justify who you are. Whatever your identity, culture, or life experiences, they're welcome in this space- not as something to work around, but as part of what makes you you.

What you can expect from me

Life doesn't hand you a manual, and sometimes it feels like too much to carry alone. Maybe you're in the middle of a big transition and don't recognize your own footing anymore. Maybe anxiety or depression have been quietly (or not so quietly) running the show. Maybe you're carrying something from your past that hasn't fully let go of you. Or maybe you're just trying to figure out who you are, underneath everyone else's expectations.
