Great to meet you!

I am a bilingual LCSW-C therapist offering services in both English and Mandarin. I specialize in supporting clients with trauma, relationship challenges, personal growth, identity concerns, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. With a Ph.D. background in family sociology and social psychology, I bring a deep understanding of how family dynamics, relationships, social environments, and past experiences shape a person’s emotional patterns and sense of self. My approach is warm, collaborative, and insight-oriented. I help clients look beneath the surface, understand the root causes of their struggles, reshape unhelpful patterns, and turn self-awareness into practical steps toward healing and meaningful change.

My approach to therapy

My therapy style is warm, collaborative, and practical, while also helping clients explore deeper patterns beneath the surface. I draw from CBT, DBT, ACT, psychodynamic therapy, narrative therapy, and transactional analysis to support each client’s unique needs. Together, we may work on understanding thoughts and emotions, building coping and communication skills, exploring past experiences and relationship patterns, and identifying the life stories or “scripts” that may no longer serve you. I help clients develop greater self-awareness, reconnect with their values, and turn insight into concrete steps toward healing, growth, and healthier relationships.

What you can expect from me

During the first session, my priority is to create a safe, warm, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel comfortable being themselves. We will talk about what has been weighing on them, what they hope to gain from therapy, and any important experiences, relationships, or patterns that may be connected to their current struggles. I move at the client’s pace while also helping them begin to organize their thoughts, identify goals, and understand what may be happening beneath the surface. Clients can expect to leave the first session feeling heard, supported, and with a clearer starting point for healing and growth.
