Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Yolanda, your new therapist—a mother of two and a Mema to three beautiful grandkisses whose personal journey through challenges, transitions, and generational patterns shapes the woman, daughter, sister, and therapist I am today. I earned my master’s degree in Somatic Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Dance/Movement Therapy from Naropa University and am connected with the Association of Black Psychologists, bringing a mind–body–spirit and culturally rooted approach to healing. I am committed to family and community wellness and offer a supportive, responsive space for individuals seeking to grow, transform, and experience deeper connection.

My approach to therapy

I work from a body-based, movement lead and culturally rooted perspective that honors your lived experience, family story, and the communities you belong to. My style is warm, steady, and collaborative, creating space for you to slow down and reconnect with what your body has been carrying. I specialize in trauma across the lifespan, maternal and postpartum mental health, parenting challenges, identity transitions, and intergenerational patterns, with deep experience supporting Black women, teens, and those in caregiving or leadership roles. Through somatic practices and cultural awareness, I help clients regulate their nervous system, reduce overwhelm, and build the capacity to grow and transform. Together, we create a healing space that supports deeper connection with yourself and those around you.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is a gentle introduction to our work together. You can expect a warm, grounding space where we talk about what feels most important to you right now and begin noticing how your body and emotions respond to stress and connection. We’ll move slowly, with cultural awareness and compassion, as we build a therapeutic relationship that honors your lived experience and supports your healing.
