Great to meet you!

I’m not the kind of therapist who expects you to have the perfect words or know exactly where to start. Come as you are—we’ll figure it out together.

I believe therapy works best when you feel like you can show up exactly as you are. My approach is warm, down-to-earth, and supportive, while also being honest and practical. You won’t find a cold or overly clinical environment in my sessions. I want therapy to feel like a safe place where you can talk openly, feel understood, and actually work toward meaningful change.

I have over 10 years of experience in the mental health field and hold two master’s degrees from John Brown University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults.

My work includes helping clients navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship and family concerns, life transitions, emotional regulation, self-esteem, boundaries, and patterns that may be keeping them stuck. I enjoy working with parents and families to better understand behavior, strengthen relationships, and create healthier ways of communicating. I also enjoy helping couples move beyond repeating the same conflicts, better understand one another, rebuild connection, and create healthier patterns in their relationship.

I use a practical, collaborative approach to therapy. We may explore where certain patterns came from, but we’ll also focus on what you can do with that understanding now. I want you to leave therapy not only feeling heard, but with greater insight, useful tools, and confidence in your ability to handle what comes next.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, supportive, and practical. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to help you better understand your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and patterns while giving you tools to create meaningful change.

I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), while also incorporating techniques from other evidence-based approaches based on your individual needs. I don’t believe therapy should be one-size-fits-all. Some sessions may involve identifying patterns and challenging unhelpful thoughts, while others may focus on processing emotions, relationships, boundaries, coping skills, or simply making sense of something that feels overwhelming.

My style is warm and conversational, but I’m also willing to gently challenge you when it can help you grow. I won’t just sit back and listen—I’ll ask questions, help you connect the dots, teach practical skills, and work alongside you to identify changes that feel realistic for your life.

Most importantly, I want therapy to be a space where you can be honest without feeling judged. You don’t have to have everything figured out before you walk through the door. We’ll start where you are and work together from there.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is really about getting to know each other and helping me understand what brought you to therapy. There’s no pressure to tell your entire story in one session or know exactly what you want to work on. We’ll go at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

I’ll ask questions about what’s currently going on in your life, what you’ve been struggling with, what’s working well, and what you hope might be different. We’ll also talk about your history and experiences when they’re relevant, but I believe building trust is important—you don’t have to share everything before you’re ready.

You can expect the conversation to feel relaxed and genuine rather than like an interview. I want to begin understanding you as a whole person, not just a list of symptoms or problems. Together, we’ll start identifying patterns, strengths, and goals and begin developing a plan that makes sense for you.

Most importantly, you don’t need to prepare anything or come in knowing what to say. Just show up as you are. We’ll take it from there together.
