Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Angie, a Licensed Professional Counselor originally from Oklahoma. I bring over 20 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and families as a teacher and school counselor. I earned my master’s degree in School Counseling from East Central University and my bachelor’s degree in Education from Northeastern State University. I work with individuals and couples experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, abuse, relationship challenges, and significant life transitions. Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, hiking, and spending time with my family.

My approach to therapy

I believe therapy works best when we work together toward changes that matter to you. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness to help you understand patterns in your thoughts and behaviors, manage emotions, and strengthen communication and boundaries. My style combines space to process your experiences with practical tools you can use in everyday life, tailored to your needs, strengths, and goals.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, my focus is on helping you feel comfortable, heard, and respected in a compassionate, nonjudgmental environment. We’ll discuss what brought you to counseling, relevant background, and what you hope to gain from our time together. You can ask questions and share at your own pace; you don’t have to tell your whole story right away. By the end, we’ll identify an initial focus and discuss next steps so you have a clearer sense of what to expect.
