Great to meet you!

Hey, I'm Audrey! I'm a clinical social worker -- this means that I was taught to look for context in mental health.

An example: you're worried about the state of our country? (First of all, me too.) But that worry itself isn't necessarily what needs to change if it aligns with your values. Maybe we work on how to engage with your community, continue to behave in a way that aligns with your values, and make sure that the degree that you are worried isn't getting in the way of what you want to be doing and the person you want to be.

Through looking at the context that you live in, we'll figure out who you want to be and how you want to get there. I usually work with young adults (18-30ish) who are dealing with major life changes like starting or finishing college, finding your first "big kid" job, or going through a relationship transition. Or, maybe things are stable, but still not what you want! You're feeling worried, anxious, or depressed. It's super hard, but you don't have to do it alone. If you're nodding your head or thinking "that's me!", we might be a good fit.

My approach to therapy

I'm a no-BS therapist that does not vibe with the "blank slate" approach that is portrayed in the media. I will laugh with you, dive into your feelings, sprinkle some food for thought here and there, and together, we'll work on getting you to where you want to be. My style of therapy feels conversational, but it is firmly grounded in the evidence for what works in therapy.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect to take away a small next step forward to try. I don't expect you to change your whole life in one after we identify your goals. That would be way too overwhelming and not realistic! I want to make sure that we are setting goals together that are ACHIEVABLE so that you come back next week with a win in your pocket.
