Great to meet you!

Since graduating with a master’s degree in nursing 17 years ago, I have worked as a psychiatric nurse practitioner diagnosing, prescribing medication, and providing counseling therapy to individuals struggling with symptoms of trauma (including DID), depression and bipolarity, anxiety, borderline personality, psychosis, autism, and ADHD.

Additionally, I have a master’s degree in counseling therapy with an emphasis on existential-gestalt, shadow-work, and trauma-informed therapies from Johns Hopkins University where I also did an internship in palliative care at NIMH. As part of these studies, I lived in China for a period of time, resided in a monastery, and studied comparative religion and iconography.

My approach to therapy

Working together we will identify and address symptoms as well as any intra- and inter-personal dynamics and challenges that may be pertinent to your motivations for pursuing treatment; building on strengths and listening to (perceived) ‘weaknesses.’ We will make use of both psycho-pharmacologic and therapeutic treatment regimens as clinically indicated, always checking in to ensure that the process is on course for you – towards higher functioning, well-being, and improved quality of life as you define it.

What you can expect from me

In our first session clients can expect to feel that they are heard and seen, and that their story and concerns are validated. They can expect a provider who will clearly share his thoughts, clinical impression, and treatment recommendations. And for us to develop a treatment plan together, including allowing sufficient time for us to discuss their questions, concerns, and hopes.
