Great to meet you!

Many people seek therapy during periods of loss, change, or ongoing stress that feels difficult to manage alone. You may be coping with grief, navigating a major life transition, living with a chronic medical condition, or feeling emotionally worn down by long-term demands. Even when life appears stable on the surface, these experiences can lead to anxiety, low mood, exhaustion, or a sense of disconnection over time.

I bring over 25 years of clinical experience working with adults across inpatient psychiatric hospitals, partial and intensive outpatient programs, and outpatient therapy settings. I work with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, chronic stress, health-related challenges, and life transitions. My approach is practical, supportive, and grounded, with a focus on helping clients feel more emotionally steady, less overwhelmed, and better able to engage in daily life.

While I work with a wide range of adults, I have particular experience supporting people adjusting to chronic illness, aging-related changes, caregiving roles, and loss. These situations often require ongoing adaptation rather than quick solutions. Therapy can offer a space to process what has changed, reduce emotional strain, and develop realistic ways to move forward.

My approach to therapy

My approach is practical, supportive, and grounded in evidence-based care. I primarily use cognitive-behavioral and acceptance-based strategies to help clients manage anxiety, grief, chronic stress, and the emotional impact of ongoing life and health challenges.

I work collaboratively and at a realistic pace, with a focus on reducing overwhelm, addressing self-criticism, and helping clients develop sustainable ways to cope with change, loss, and uncertainty. Therapy is a space to speak openly about what feels difficult and to work toward greater emotional steadiness in daily life.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, my priority is to create a safe, welcoming environment where you feel comfortable showing up just as you are. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you in, what you’re hoping to get out of therapy, and any past experiences (positive or negative) you’ve had with therapy. I’ll also ask questions to get a fuller understanding of your life context—emotionally, physically, socially, and otherwise.

This first conversation is just the beginning—it’s a chance for us to get to know each other and start building a foundation of trust. You don’t need to prepare anything or have it all figured out. Just come as you are.
