Great to meet you!

The name of my practice is Creative Psychology because I bring an artist's eye and ear to my clinical services and am proud to say that I've been licensed as a psychologist since 2014. You can read more about that further below... If you'd like to know more about me as a person, read on!

In addition to being an artist, I'm an avid athlete (trail run, road run, spinning, hot yoga, swimming, hiking). I was born in NJ and have lived all over the country, although most of my life has been spent in the Seattle-Portland area. If you want to get a true sense of who I am, all you need to know is that I'm a die-hard Pacific Northwesterner and consider Hawaii to be my home-that-never-was. Currently, I live in NC with my husband and our geriatric cat and spend much of my day in my home office/studio.

I look forward to meeting you!

My approach to therapy

A few years ago, I moved away from CBT and now focus on clinical hypnotherapy for a variety of health problems and GI Health Psychology.

Both of these treatments are time-limited, meaning that I have increased access for new patients.

Clinical Hypnotherapy may range anywhere from 2-12 sessions in treatment of concerns such as panic attacks, nervousness around medical procedures, chronic pain, etc. GI Health Psychology is a treatment that is used as an adjunct to medical care for Disorders of Gut-Brain Interaction and some structural GI diseases, such as Inflammatory Bowel Disease. It includes clinical hypnotherapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, I will briefly overview how I operate and answer any questions you may have, you'll be able to share what is bringing you to therapy, and we will start working on goal-setting so that both of us are clear about the path moving forward. I will likely also provide an initial hypnotherapy treatment that is just for de-stressing so that we both get a sense of how hypnotherapy feels for you.
