Great to meet you!

Greetings from Frank Smith, MFT. Let me offer a truism: whether positive or negative, most behavior is learned. Behavior often results in patterns. Those patterns can be positive and life affirming. But they can also be maladaptive and impact our happiness and relationships. Do you wonder why can't you break these destructive patterns? I can help you unravel where they came from. Let me be your psychological navigator to help you let go of the past and have a better and more fullling life.

My approach to therapy

My therapy approach helps clients, in a sensitive an empowering manner, to identify the different mechanisms they have destructively used to avoid being in touch with their true feelings and themselves.

I work actively and collaboratively with my clients, who may enter therapy for a variety of distressing symptoms, such as anxiety/panic and depression, but most have an underlying conflict with intimacy, closeness, and emotional commitment in their personal relationships.

What you can expect from me

Through my empathic and empowering approach, my goal is for clients to develop the capacity to tolerate the expression of painful feelings to help improve their stress tolerance, emotional regulation and capacity for interpersonal closeness.
